Hi!
Quick question!
Can you swap the Velcro pad and shoulder straps from an Osprey Stratos 34 m/l and put them on an Osprey Talon 33 m/l?
The Talon 33 straps are thinner but Ok!
The Stratos straps have more padding so wondered if the swap was possible for a bit more comfort?

Thanks
Woody.

Holoholo automatically captures your footpaths, places, photos, and journals.
If the straps are thinner, the clips will also be narrower - will the wider straps fit? I tried swapping with an Escapist harness and it didn't work because of the wider straps. Other than that - if you have both, try it and let us know!

I've got a 'small' talon 33 and am off to the local auto accessory shop. They sell woolen sleeves to make safety belts more comfortable and I'm hoping they will do the same for the talon's shoulder straps.
A few years ago I had woolen shoe insoles trimmed to shape then stitched onto the undersides of my old Talon 44's waistbelt.
Ruddy champion idea that was.

Gerard

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Hi Nidarosa!
Thanks for your reply;my daughter has just a few minutes ago found that the straps are two different sizes;that's where common sense has it's place in the World i had them side by side and hadn't even considered it !
So i will use the Talon 33 as is;it's a great little pack and comfortable. Just wanted to see if i could make it more so. Got all my gear in it including Ecco sandals 4.78 KILOS for flight carry on.
It's a medium large and we have out of the box it came in made a cabin overhead storage size container 56x 45 25 cm which is Easyjet's max!
Using the packs compression straps;the pack sits in with room to spare!
So good to go.
Woody.

Gerard, I had ordered the wooly seat belt straps a few years ago from a suggestion on the Forum, thinking they would be perfect. I didn't end up using them because the velcro would not reach around far enough on my straps. I should have cut them apart and reconfigured them.

Well I guess if the sleeves don't fit I could go with the "trimmed to fit" woolen shoe insoles, but for the shoulder straps this time. They were only about A$15 a pair.

My husband has worn car seat belt covers, not the woolly ones, around his Talon 44 straps for years. He seems to think he doesn't need them on his new Talon 36 with the same weight though, so maybe they have got thicker or more comfortable?

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
