Typical start/end points?

Hi there,

Several years ago, I walked from SJPP to Santiago, and I am considering backtracking this year and starting in Le Puy. I don't think I want to complete the entire route to SJPP in a single trip, and am wondering if there are common/logical stopping points along the way (like Burgos, Leon, etc. in Spain) that have access to train and bus services. Ideally, I'd like to walk for 21ish days, give or take a few.

Thanks if you can!

Hello!
If you want to walk for three weeks I would suggest to stop in Cahors or Moissac. Both have railway connections and are beautiful places to stop. Best part of the route as well.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Yes, from Le Puy: 1 week to Aumont-Aubrac (rail), 2 weeks to Conques (bus), 3 weeks to Cahors (rail), Moissac (rail) is 3-4 days past Cahors. At least that was my experience. As always, your mileage may vary.

You may also want to consider taking the route through the Cele River valley, after Conques.

Hi there, I'm considering walking from Le Puy to St. Jean next spring if I can get my French up to par. I'm looking on advice on a few things: - Would it be too cool and rainy to start walking...
