Hi peregrino's,

Does someone has some info about taking a boat from La Coruna to The Netherlands?
Is there a name of a boat-company?
I suppose the RENFE-site will not help me......

Buen camino,

paul

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Hi Paul,

I have not heard about a ferry service from La Coruña to Holland. Actually I have not heard of any international ferry route from Galicia (except to Portugal).

I think there is one service from the Santander area to the UK. Have a look here:

Well, you could maybe sign up for a cruise and they may be able to drop you off in Holland...

Greetings from a rainy Santiago,
Ivar

was just about to reply, but you beat me to it

There are 2 passenger ferries UK-Spain. Brittany Ferries http://www.brittany-ferries.co.uk/ run Plymouth-Santander, P&O http://www.poferries.com/ Portsmouth-Bilbao

There are occasional freight/container ships from Galician ports that run to the UK (and maybe also somewhere like Rotterdam) and have accommodation, but I think this is much reduced since the arrival of budget airlines - it is not a cheap option. Then again, it's cheaper than a cruise

Another option, very much a descendant of medieval practice, is to hire a sailing boat. I posted an item viewtopic.php?t=126 on a French outfit that would probably be willing. Best for a group, I would have thought, unless you're pretty wealthy.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
