Time of past OR future Camino
July (2013)
I will be talking my first Camino in July 2013. Due to obligations, I do not have time to walk the entire route so I will begin at SJPP & end in Burgos this year. (And begin there another year).
What is the best way to get from Burgos to Madrid? Train? Bus?

Walk to bus station across river from cathedral about five minutes. The main albergue near the cathedral has maps and will give directions. The train station is out of town so would need to walk get a taxi or bus
Buses run to Madrid (3 hours) and some direct to the airport. Check the alsa site.

Definitely the bus. You can take one directly to the Madrid airport, or to the Avenida America bus station which is easily connected to the city and airport via the metro. Less than three hours, less than 19 euros.

You can buy your ticket directly at the bus station, at the Alsa window, or at one of the easy-to-use self-service ticket machines, which have an English option and allow you to select your own seat.

For timetables, here is the Alsa website link: http://www.alsa.es/en/

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
