Transportation and Livery Service

Time of past OR future Camino
Fall 2012, again Fall 2014.
New guy here. I have crossed the Camino many time during visits to Spain, and my wife and I have long talked about trying at least a section.
Well, this year we are planning to visit friends and family in Santander, and we are looking at doing Sarria to Santiago in the second half of September. A friend in Santander, who has walked the Camino for many years, recommends this section for us.
I have 2 questions.
First, transportation from Santander to Sarria? What would be good alternatives? Or from Leon to Sarria, since it is fairly easy to get to Leon.

Second, does anyone have experiences with tour and livery services, such as Pilgrim Walks (http://www.pilgrimroutes.com/Default.aspx). This seems like it might be a boon to folks like us with limited time to spend on logistics.

Though we are ardent hikers, this would be our first such adventure. We hope to gain knowledge and experience and to make the entire Camino in a couple of year.
Thanks in advance.

Holoholo automatically captures your footpaths, places, photos, and journals.
Contact - garry@spanishadventures.com (No, I don't get a commission!) He lives in Santiago can help you with all your arrangements.

If you are ardent hikers you should not need any assistance. Albergues and hotels are in every town and you just have to turn up without reservation.
It sounds like you are fit enough to carry your own bags.
It really is straight forward and not a lot of planning or reserving is needed.
You would only have to work out how to get to Sarria.
From Santiago airport you take a bus to Lugo.
You change buses at the small bus station in Lugo for Sarria.
Simple and easy.
No advance reservations required.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Thanks to you both. I appreciate your suggestions and the link.
We are both so excited about this we may explode long before September. :D
The propects of the Camino and seeing our wonderful family and friends in Santander has us giddy.

The idea of the livery appeals to me because my hobby is photography and I would rather carry a tripod than spare boots.

In the end, I'm sure we'll make the right choices. And that we'll have a great adventure.
I'm sure I'll be back on the forum with more questions before we leave. And I'll surely be back with our 'trip report'.

You would have to travel through Lugo. Alsa.es gives two options (> 7 hours)
Then local to Sarria. You may want to stay overnight in a hostal. You will obtain info/assistance concerning delivery service at that stage. Make sure you start with a credencial if you intend to stay in albergues.
