Time of past OR future Camino
Have done 3 camino trips, this year will start off at leon.
Hi all, our group are walking the third stage of Camino and plan to finish in Terradillos De los Templarios on Friday 1st May. We need to get back from there to Bilbao for flight home. Any advice on transport options, is there local transport to Burgos and either train or bus back to Bilbao from there. Any name for local bus companies? Any advice appreciated, kind regards, Angela

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Angela, not sure about transport, but be careful of where you stay. My husband and several others we know were bitten by bedbugs pretty badly at Albergue Jaques de Moley the night of October 1 this year. I got up in the middle of the night and turned on a small flashlight to get to the bathroom and there were two on the bed and one on the wall. Crushed them and Yuk!!!

Hi Angela
Just a hunch, are you from Ireland? :)

I suspect @whariwharangi would be the perfect person to answer this question.
Looking at rome2rio.com, there is a direct bus from Terridillos to Bilbao that travels 4 times a week (alsa.es)

https://www.rome2rio.com/s/34349-Terradillos-de-los-Templarios-Palencia-Spain/Bilbao

You also have the option of travelling to Sahagun and catching a train to Bilbao (RENFE)

Strange place to finish off a stretch of the Camino I have to say though..there is nothing in Terridillos :)

Train for your next Camino on California's Santa Catalina Island March 16-19
ALSA provides service between Burgos and Leon and stops once per day at Terridillos de los Templarios in either direction ... you'll have to decide if you want to go to Sahagun to catch the train or bus to Burgos.

ALSA provides service on hourly basis from Burgos to Bilbao bus station.

Renfe provides one train per day from Sahagun to Bilbao. I didn't check to see if the bus would get you to Sahagun on time to catch it ... In Bilbao take the metro from the train station Abando Indalicio Prieto to San Mames (colocated with Termibus) to find the bus to the airport.

The airport bus Bizkaibus 3247 goes from Bilbao bus station to Bilbao Airport.

Note the timings are based on today's schedule ... there may be more frequent service on your dates of travel.

Noticing the date you give is the 1st May. When checking times this will be a holiday so not a working day schedule. Actually still many buses/trains usually, but 'fiesta/festival and not laborales. Also they might get quite busy.
Buen Camino

"There is nothing in Terradillos."
No mi digas! Spend a little time there and you will find PLENTY in Terradillos. There's a fantastic view westward and northward. There are orchards, donkeys, a dairy farm, and six herds of sheep, and all the shepherds and sheepdogs that go with them. There's an old fuente by the cemetery with the names of the diggers carved into the stones, and a date... it's been there a LONG time! And the dovecote with beautiful carved wooden doves up on the eaves. And if you knock on the door of the fancy house facing the church, and ask nicely for the key, you will find a spectacular crucifix inside, and one of the most complex and wonderful animated "Belen" Christmas scenes in all of Palencia! (it won the prize a couple of years ago.)

Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.
There is a daily bus (except Saturday) currently that starts in Leon at 1545, goes through Terradillos at 1655, and on to Bilbao, arriving at 2120. Most ALSA bus schedules are recurrent, so next year is likely to be the same.

It is only 12 more kms to Sahagun on a very easy trail!! You will miss the beautiful Ermita de Santa Maria del Camino with the lovely medieval bridge and the outstanding Half-Way Monument marking the half-way Camino Frances in Spain and about 1 kms from Sahagun. You even go by the bus and train station. DEFINITELY worth to walk those 12 kms; DEFINITELY! The bus itinerary from Terradillos is not really very convenient and a bit risky been that you get one shot/day; you are traveling with a group; the bus is close to full, some or all of you are out of luck. Get to Sahagun.

Hi I'm travelling to Burgos to walk part of the Camino Frances next year and my options seems to be fly into Santander and coach to Burgos, or fly into Madrid, then coach to Burgos. Don't think...
Hello! I’ve been browsing the forum and there’s plenty of info for baggage transfers from stage to stage, where you pick it up daily, give it back and move on, however what I’m after is a service...
