Time of past OR future Camino
2014
we are arriving in paris on october 8 2014. Should we be purchasing our train tickets ahead of time or will there be seats available on the same day we get there?

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
You will get some expert advice on this forum but you need to be a little more specific. Which airport and what time are you arriving would be a helpful. You may find yourself with a choice of spending a night in Paris, taking a night train or flying onward to Biarritz depending on your arrival information.

You can usually purchase tickets at the train station. Worst case scenario is you have to wait for the next train. Exceptions would be holidays when seats are completely booked.

Buy online from www.capitainetrain.com
Bookings and best prices start ninety days prior to required travel date.
My latest purchase, 90 days out, Paris Montparnasse Station to Biarritz, for Sep 9th, cost 26 Euros.
