Does anyone know if there is a train or bus from Santiago to Astorga?

We're thinking we might like to fly into Santiago, bus or train back to Astorga, walk INTO Santiago, then down the VDLP.

there is definitely a train from Santiago to Astorga - I took it after my camino. It goes through to Burgos, stopping in Astorga. It leaves about 9am from Santiago. We didn't book - just turned up at the rail way station and didn't have any trouble getting a seat.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
that train takes a spectacular route, following the Miño river valley from Ourense. You see part of the new Camino Invierno route this way, I´m pretty sure. Keep an eye out for the swans.

Thanks Janeh and Rebecca.
We'll look into it - sounds like a great ride!
