Time of past OR future Camino
22 April 2018 if all goes well
Hi all, so I have been reading about getting to the start of the Camino - I think I'd like to take the train that seems to leave around 11h. I cannot find a link to the train/ bus time tables. Anybody have links/ suggestions on how I should travel?
I think I might stay over in Madrid or Pamplona (if trip is easy for jetlagged brain) for one night.
Suggestions and links to the time tables would be great - traveling April 22 if all goes well.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Howdy Pilgrim,

Renfe is the train service and Alsa is the main bus service in Spain. They both have English sites, but be very patient with the English sites as they are not supported as well as they need to be, so therefore they can lag quite a bit when you're on them. So if you go on them and they give you problems, try again in a few hours or the next day.

I am taking the train from Madrid to Pamplona on April 4. The ticket was about 30 Euro and I've taken that route before. It's very scenic and I recommend it over taking the bus. If you are on a budget, the Alsa bus is about 20-25 Euro, but if you do more searching on the web, you can find other Spanish bus companies for cheaper, though I hope you know at least a little Spanish as some don't have English sites.

There are Dozens of threads on this suject - just search the forum.
Buy an ALSA bus ticket to Pamplona in the T4 arrival reception area , walk out side to the bus stop - Take the bus that has come from Madrid. Check into a cheap hostal in Pamplona and even talk to other pilgrims in the streets who have already done what you want to - Budget may be an issue in which case start at Roncesvalles.
