One problem is finding available accommodation in the mountains during the season. Therefore check out hidden mountain refuges for how find your own space for each night.

Considering hiking the Tour du Mont Blanc late August/early September 2022. Are there any websites or apps for the TMB that are as good as Gronze.com or Camino Ninja?
I did the TMB solo in early September 2011. I had a reservation for the first night and the last night. The rest of the days I would phone ahead during the day or just show up. One night the refugio was full but they found room for me. Covid has changed everything so not sure what to expect in terms of numbers walking. My guess is if things open up this summer it could be crowded in September. Get an E copy of Kev Reynolds TMB Guide.
Published by Cicerone Press and also available on Amazon. I carried the paper copy on the TMB but found E guides just as adequate when I did the Walker’s Haut Route and the Tour of the Matterhorn

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
I am also really interested in the TMB and would certainly consider a company to set things up! Thanks mspath for a link to such a company!

I would appreciate hearing from a Forum Member who has used a TMB company they would recommend.

Thanks

Guy

VaughantownHiker,
I just read this and thought that you might enjoy it also.

Thanks for the great reading suggestions. My husband is 72 and in good shape. Encouraging to hear about 80 year olds making the trek. There’s hope for us.
