Toulouse accomodations - any ideas?

I am trying to make this trip as affordable to me as possible because I'm working with a small budget.
I will fly into Gatwick from the US (already have that ticket - arriving 10AM in Sept.)
To avoid travel between airports in London, I am considering an inexpensive afternoon flight from Gatwick to Toulouse. ( It seems there aren't many flights toward the Camino Frances from Gatwick)
I assume that I'll need to take a train (and maybe a bus also) to St. Jean Pied de Port to begin the Camino Frances route.
Late arrival in Toulouse will mean spending the night there.
Does anyone know of any inexpensive accomodation in Toulouse, especially that I could reserve, because of the late arrival time?
If there are any ideas for a less expensive way to get from Gatwick to St Jean Pied, please let me know. I'll appreciate any suggestions.
Thank you.
