Porto to Santiago; Sept 2014
I have been reading about the path that St. James' body was taken after his death and it talks about traveling through the Towers of the West up to the city of Padron. Does anyone know the distance from Padron to the Towers? Is it walkable? If not, is there a bus/public transportation that regularly travels there?

Train for your next Camino on California's Santa Catalina Island March 16-19

Either from Padrón or Caldas de Reis, the distance untill Catoira, where the Torres del Oeste are located it's about 20km. One could say that it's almost a 2 day detour, unless you come back to either Padrón or Caldas in the same day.

And for what I've seen, you can only reach there by taxi.

Best Regards

For pilgrims waking the central camino route you have a waymarked variant after Pontevedra which takes you to the ria arrousa and at the moment you go to padron by the tradtional way of the sea, however i have seen a comment that it is intended to waymark the route along the coast for foot pilgrims to Padron that would probably take you to and through Torres del oeste, one link for existing waymarked way is http://dospedalesmilcaminos.blogspot.co.uk/p/camino-de-pontevedra-ao-salnes.pontevedra My mobile is playing up if you look for entries for Camino ao Salnes a good one is dated 18/6 and within is blog is areally detailed one with maps, sorry i couldnt give more but there is a little countdown looming for me, happy new year.
