Greetings from the Voie d’Arles. Started outside of Montpellier, walked to Castres and took a train to Auch, where we are walking to the end in Puente de la Reina. This is a beautiful walk, few people and no issues getting lodging. We have cut a few 30km stages short by taking taxis part way. Of course that takes some planning. So back to the title of this post- have had multiple ticks attachments - you often walk in long grass. Especially from Marciac to Morlaas. So don’t forget to do tick checks. I don’t know if they carry any bad diseases here like in California, so just a fyi.

Annually - often more - from 2014
A useful reminder - yes, ticks in Europe can transmit Lyme disease and (more rarely) tick-borne encephalitis. Possibly more besides.

Keep an eye out for a concentric ring rash around any bite sites.

As a dog owner in an area full of sheep and deer, I carry a tick remover always. One comes with me on Camino along with half a dozen doxycycline tablets; sufficient to get to a doctor and get a full course if I suspect infection.

Hi @Suzanne A It’s good to read of someone walking on the Arles / Aragones Way. We walked from Arles to Obanos in 2016. I’ve never understood why it’s not more popular. A wonderful path both in France and across the border in Spain. In fact we were back on the Aragones / Arles briefly earlier this week. After visiting the Monasteries of San Juan de la Peña, we walked from Jaca to the Col du Somport and then from Urdos back to Oloron Saint Marie.

If it fits with your plans I do highly recommend the wonderful donativo albergue in Canfranc peublo. It’s something special, about 5 kms downhill from Canfranc Estacion.

Bon chemin, Buen camino 😎
