I have had the great pleasure to know Giles since we met on the Camino Francés in 2013. Over the years, I've seen many examples of his camino-writings while walking the Francés and Primitivo routes to Santiago de Compostela. I have long encouraged him to share them with a wider audience and, at long last, he has now done so in a kindle/kindle app e-book format.
Three Caminos is not a guide book, so it won't help anyone get from A to B. Instead, Amazon introduces it as follows:
"History, literature, art, and also love, friendship, childhood and the raising of children - all these and more filled the mind of a man in the latter half of life walking the old pilgrimage ways across northern Spain. These essays were written in the course of three adventures on the road to Santiago. Aside from the writer, many other pilgrims appear in these pages, for no one ever makes this journey alone."
I'm not posting this thread to make Giles a best-seller, though that would be nice! I am doing so simply because his personal observations will provide vicarious pleasure to many who have walked a camino previously, and his choice of subject matter can also teach us ways we can possibly enrich our own future camino experiences.
You can decide for yourself by downloading a free sample of the book from the Amazon site.
