This camino thing is infectious

Agnogel

A very great full pilgrim
As posted i walk my camino at the end of August after hearing about my impending walk my favourite 26 year old niece who split with her long term boyfriend last month informed me last week that she has booked to walk from Sarria in early April so she can get away for a while and get her head and her thoughts together. To day the Society of the Friends of St James here in Dublin held an information day and i collected her pilgrims passport (she was working) then went around the corner to the Guinness brewery were they stamped the first two stamps of the Society and the St James gate brewery stamp for her, she is reading up on the forum also for tips.
She is chuffed with her progress and so looking forward to it as am i. Its now flowing in our blood.
Mysterious indeed is the Way of St James

Very infectious.

As I approached SDC, I swore I was never going back again, after finishing the CF and LePuy routes. I'm now close to booking a flight to Bilbao, and walking the northern route.

I think it may just be addictive, rather than infectious ;)
I'm really looking forward to the Camino Ingles in May, after the long, wet winter here in the UK.
As you can see under my picture
I'm a junkie ....

Yes, a wonderful start - with a stamp from one of Ireland's sacred places. Buen Camino to you both.

It is indeed infectious. I remember by first time very well and I am little over 8 weeks until I am back for my 4th time.
I was hoping to get to the open day today, but something came up..but I will be collecting my credencial from St James' church before I go..and a cheeky drink also while I am there :)

Very very Infectious
I plan to walk The Camino del Norte this year 2014.
but my previous is
5 Times completed Camino Frances
1 Time completed Via de la Plata (Seville to Santiago)
Camino Levante from Valencia to Toledo ( Did not complete because it was very ugly, boring and lonely) 2013

Keep us informed of how it goes. I'm interested in doing the Northern Route in 2 years.

I am suffering from the incurable Camino Virus since 1999 ;-) Buen Camino for your niece! SY

I promised myself after my last one that i would walk 10 days max on a section(wherever it was) that was noted for its beauty and historical attractions -cherry pick. But i wouldnt(couldnt) let it be, after upping it to 21 days towards the end of last year I decided that i needed longer again. It is addictive, but worth it like nothing else I know.

None of you nor I will ever be quite the same again. The camino holds us teaches us, moulds us, cried with us loves us, and just simply lives in us, and we can never let go of that sweet memory. So pilgrimage just goes on and on and on……………………….!
