The inauguration ceremony of the “Pilgrim Garden” is May 11 in Palas de Rei along the Camino Frances path in Os Chacotes Park. After the stamp booth, take a left and proceed 50 meters. Laberinto del Camino (labyrinth) will greet you. 30 meters behind Laberinto in an oak forest is the Pilgrim Garden, an outdoor restorative space for pilgrims. Join the journey… free fiesta at 5:00 pm (17:00) Saturday afternoon. Live music, dancing, and Journeyman songs. See you there.

This is a magical place. I spent last Friday September 13th there with a designer and builder. It's an incredible effort and gift on his part to the city and to the Camino. The city has added their bit with stairs and a very nice entrance to the garden and labyrinth. It's well worth 10 or 15 minutes to go visit it. I have found on this Camino that there's no reason to rush. So I hope you'll stop by and take all of this wonder into your heart.

Take your time to walk the labyrinth. The tip of it points directly to Santiago which you can metaphorically use as a guide for your last three or four days. The garden is in the shape of a boot exemplifying all the effort that you have done to this point. There are a place to sit and reflect on your journey. It's a quiet place you'll really enjoy it.
Buen Camino,
Bartman
