The pazo that inspired 19th century Galician novelist Emilia Pardo Bazan's 'Los Pazos de Ulloa', is just off the Camino as you leave Palas de Rei in the village of Ulloa.

And if you haven't heard about this novel, then you may want to give it a read as it offers amazing descriptions of rural Galicia in the 19th century as well as a whole chapter on Santiago de Compostela.
