Time of past OR future Camino
I have walked the Camino Francis 7 times, twice in 2017 and 2018. (2019)
There have been posts about a flasher along the Camino. I saw this brazen man yesterday in Hontanas and want to warn others to beware.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
You should report this to the police immediately. However, I will tell you that in Spain, if there is no physical contact between the pervert and the innocent passer by, the crime is merely a misdemeanor. It is punishable by a fine. Only if the pervert somehow makes contact with the other person does this rise to a felony that might be actionable.

So, keep your distance. Report it. But, do not expect a TV-like response.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!

Thanks for your kind advice. So I understand that if I place myself close enough for him to make contact the police will consider this a felony? Some places might consider this entrapment. It is the modern way to just do media shaming. So I say shame on that stoned Spanish man who seems very hard up.

I appreciate the humor. Truly I do. But even an innocuous post like this will bring out odd posts.

So, my advice still stands, albeit for a live person. Never get within touching distance if you can avoid it! People are disappeared and harmed that way.

The best advice is to not look. Do not give the perv the audience and satisfaction. Avert your gaze and walk away...

Seriously, this is not a joke.

While walking my second Camino I rounded a bend and saw a group of children playing. Then I saw the two pilgrims in the grass near the children doing the wild thing. All I would say is "Is that all you've got?"

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

If that brazen man makes contact with a pilgrim, it will be the pilgrim's fault and he or she will be the one who is arrested!😛

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Perhaps we should move him to Bodegas Irache and re-wire the Fountain (please reflect that the world 'we' is used very loosely here)
My son loved the wine fountain of Irache. He tried filling up his 20oz water bottle with it, but it stopped flowing after it gave him the acceptable amount of the equivalent of a 5oz glass. I think it is monitored with a hidden camera for potential offenders.😂

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

So... Big Brother is always Watching is right on the queue here? Some 6'3" 300lbs monk sitting in the IT cell and monitors the output of the spigot and punches RESET button if you go over 5 oz
Hmmm....

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Scroll down a bit.
Maybe better to do it tomorrow as now in the (Spanish) evening no pilgrim will stop by ;)

Yep, Big Brother and nearly a dozen moderators viewing every letter we type, bless their hard working selves and I mean that seriously with tons of respect!!
I've had my hands slapped a couple of times, and just ask Kinky his story. The mods keep us on the straight and narrow so Big Brother stays off our backs.

No I didn't report it to the police, they are not concerned about such a tiny matter 😇

If you were concerned enough to “warn” us...then it perhaps warranted reporting it to police.....? Even if such an act is only a misdemeanor in Spain, the perpetrator will then be known to police and hopefully a background check will be done.

@Marbe, have you read the whole thread? Did you know it is just one big pun? Just checking because your post sounds so very sincere...maybe you are making a dry joke out of this thread and fooling anyone who will listen...I'm quite gullible! ☺

No, I guess I am the gullible one. I read selective parts of the thread..combined with previous posts of other reports of-flashers...and well....

Well, I'm happy I could enlighten you! Most of this thread would have been good reading on "the Not serious" one.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

I diasgaree. Pigrims contribute greatly to the Spanish economy. The police do take action.

Hello all, these last two weeks on the Camino I have had a walking pneumonia and feel the best today in 10 days because I have laughed very hard at all the creative posts. I apologise to all who took it seriously because I was not knowing how to post on the not serious thread.
Seriously the poor man was a Roman who stole a chicken from the town Mayor and was turned into a fountain. Very sad.😉😉😉 But not a real danger.
