The Journey of a Camino Blanket

Kiwi-family

{Rachael, the Mama of the family}
Time of past OR future Camino
walking every day for the rest of my life
In Santiago after finishing our Patchwork Camino (Voie de la Nive, Baztan, Frances, Salvador, Primitivo, Fisterra) raising money for charity: water, I bought some beautiful cotton. All the time we had walked I had been imagining making a crocheted blanket inspired by the colours we were seeing. In my mind's eye I saw a pastoral scene, but at the end of the day I didn't know how to execute that and so I ended up coming home and making a Ripple Blanket - ripples that echoed the waves of the water, the hills we crossed, the ripples on our wet feet, the ups and downs.......and I made a book to connect the things we saw with the blanket on our bed. Now the rest of the family who didn't walk with us can *see* what we see even though they don't share the memories.
You can take a look at the book if you like....

Now I'm working on a book with our walking story as found in our journals and on the blog along with some of the many photos we took.
