I remember seeing it.
But I never thought to connect it to Estevez.
Do you have any references for that?

If they had indeed walked the Camino it would have some meaning. This is just gratuitous graffiti

That may be so, but the only reason very many Americans (and others) learnt about the camino, and now walk the camino, is because of That Movie

According to an interview I read, they walked about 350 km.
