I am on the Portuguese Camino now and want to thank all the people who paint the yellow arrows all along this route (and other routes as well)

I just want whoever is responsible for the markings to know how much I appreciate them

Thanks
Josey

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Join the Camino cleanup. Logroño to Burgos May 2025 & Astorga to OCebreiro in June
They really are well marked in Portugal: you notice the difference when you cross the river Minho into Tui :(
In fact I sent a note of congratulations to the Portuguese way-markers!
It can make such a difference to a camino to have clear arrows. So ... well done again, you markers!

your friendly neighborhood Amigos group, usually. Stop in at your local donativo pilgrim albergue and ask who does local waymarking.
It is usually just a pick-up thing, and depending on the trail often just two or three people update or freshen the waymarks as needed. Sadly, it´s the ambitious bar-owners and freelancers with brilliant ideas for "improvements" (let´s show them our pretty park/monument/statue VS. let´s make it more direct/alongside the highway) who often just go in with a brush or a stencil and send people into vales of confusion...

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

Hi Josey, we met you in Porto--going very slowly so only in Ponte de Lima tonight. The yellow arrows are great!
