Hi. Just wondering if anyone is interested in sharing an Express Bouricott transfer on 9th September. My flight arrives at 12.30.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
I am , ticket booked but will we be in Biarritz as we are
in middle of pandemic ,who knows
bus and train available
you have plenty of time

Express Bouricott sorted it out when I arrived in 2019. I agreed that I would hire it if there were 3/4 others from memory. If not then I would take the bus/train. They agreed that they would let me know about 2/3 weeks beforehand if they could link a few people together. I had to wait at the airport for 2/3 hours as my plane arrived earlier than the one from Paris. In the event we had 5 in the taxi so the cost was pretty good.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Arrive in Biarritz, walk out the front door and there will be a line of taxis. Find one, ask if he will go to SJPdP, tell him you will find more to split the cost. Then ask anyone with a backpack if thy are going to SJPdP and want to share a taxi. Within 5 min, you will have a full taxi and an hour later will be walking the streets of SJPdP.

I have done this twice now, flawless.

Hi Michelle - just miss you by a couple of days. We’re taking the train. I didn’t know taxi was an option. I’ll have to check that out. Buen Camino

Hi Sean thanks for the reply. It's anyone's guess at this stage if we will be in Biarritz on 9th September. But I suppose its good to plan for the possibility. I contacted Express Bouricott and they told me they are getting a lot of enquiries about transfers. I didn't book the transfer as it is expensive for one person. They kept my contact details in case they have other clients on that date. That's why I thought of posting here to gather up a few others.
If you are interested you might contact Express Bouricott let them know or message me. Thanks J

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Normally, I would applaud this suggestion. But given the limited space of a taxi or van, not sure I would be willing to ride for an hour with strangers, who may, or may not be vaccinated? Just a cnsideration with that Delta variant around?

Thanks Michelle for your reply. Interesting information you provided. I did the last 100km a few years ago and did what you did in Santiago Airport. I just wonder would it only be a small percentage of people flying into Biarritz Airport would be travelling on to St. Jean..Thanks again, John

I surmised that anyone with a backpack would likely be going to SJPdP. In my case, the first 3 people I approached were indeed going to SJPdP, so, 100%.

I admit that my foray was a few years ago and our world is not like that now. However, a taxi flying through the French countryside with the windows down, which ours were in August, is a much better place to be than an airplane or train or even a bus where fresh air volume is not under personal control.

Protocols still require that all passengers wear a face mask, btw.

If it were just you and the driver, and all the windows were open, I might agree.
But airflow in cars is tricky. Coupled with the possibility of unvaccinated ride sharers.

This view speaks to the side of caution, which is certainly shared.

On the other side, everyone, these days, if travelling, must demonstrate a negative Covid-19 before boarding a plane. International entry, just about everywhere is just as stringent.

For me, these days, I would feel safer on any international transit over a trip to the grocery store.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

There is no requirement to bring proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test if you are traveling from the United States to Spain, as of 6/24/21.
