TAP Airlines travel vouchers

Like many of you, I was issued travel vouchers from TAP Airlines last summer. Because mine expire on July 16 this year I made reservations to travel from the US in July. The interesting wrinkle is that you cannot combine vouchers online to equal the cost of an individual fare. To combine vouchers you must call a TAP agent and do it over the phone. Guess what? It costs about $100 more to do it over the phone. I'm not complaining, just advising. I'm very happy that I didn't lose the whole $1800 to Covid. Fingers crossed, I'm planning a CP from Lisbon in July.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
My TAP vouchers expire in June. My understanding is that I don't have to TRAVEL before they expire (I probably won't be able to anyway from South Africa), but I must use them to BOOK another flight before they expire. Am I misunderstanding?

Join the Camino cleanup. Logroño to Burgos May 2025 & Astorga to OCebreiro in June

I filed a dispute with my CC company against TAP for "failure to provide service." Eventually received a full monetary credit instead of the useless (for me) flight credit.

I went the credit card route too and TAP didn't contest a full cash refund. I am very glad I didn't take vouchers from them (or several other airlines) as I would have been out $$$ given what their expiration date would have been.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
You are correct. You must book travel by the expiration date.
I am curious to know what happens if by the new booked travel date we are still not allowed into Portugal, etc, on TAP or any other airline. Will the airlines have the same procedure as last year to let us know they are cancelling tickets, refunding or crediting us with vouchers? Anyone out there know?

This year is not last year.

If and when you book, read carefully what you purchase at that moment in time. More carefully perhaps than before.

Hello! I’ve been browsing the forum and there’s plenty of info for baggage transfers from stage to stage, where you pick it up daily, give it back and move on, however what I’m after is a service...
