Salut a tous,

This might sound like a silly question, is the sun on your back for most of your walking day like it is in Spain?

Merci,
Sonia

The route is basically southwest, with a lot of variation from north to west to south; but it is not completely west like the Camino Frances.

Right, there's a difference in direction, and also there is a more eastern location, so the timing of the sun (all the EU is on one time zone) is also a little different. Plus there is the occasional shade.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

That isn't correct. The 27 member states cover three time zones, with the bulk at UTC+1, the UK, Ireland and Portugal at UTC, and then Greece and Cyprus at UTC+2. I have not looked at whether they have a consistent approach to daylight saving time.

Thanks to dougf for clearing that up. I always wondered what was going on with times in Europe.

Something for Australians like me, who come from close to 30 degrees latitude, but prefer Europe in the cool months. Be prepared for sun in your eyes! The strong sun here at home never seems to bother my vision, but the low sun in Europe drives me nuts.

Thanks guys for your input.

I'm not looking forward to having the sun in my eyes that's for sure! Especially since my optometrist advised me to keep my eyes covered as much as possible due to 2 spots which have formed on my iris. Hmmm....

Anyways, I shall ensure I wear my sunnies and a cap at all times.

Joyeux Noël et bonne annee!
