I like to spend some time with my family just before and on Christmas but I find the 12 days holidays we get from work quite a long to time sit around at home once Christmas Day has passed. I've searched around online but it's quite difficult get ideas. Im looking for ideas for a 8-10 day walk from 27 to 4 Jan. I'm assuming most of the albergues shut so I'm thinking a walking break somewhere other than a Camino would be better.

Has anyone any ideas please?

Train for your next Camino on California's Santa Catalina Island March 16-19
New Zealand is nice at that time of year! Great walking too.

How about a bit of the Lycian Way on the southern Turkish coast?

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Not sure where you are located, that kind of information might help us to give you some input. Personally I am very partial to the Ecumenical Pilgrims Way in Germany and planning to walk the John Muir Way in Scotland later this months. Will keep you posted how that one goes. Buen Camino, SY

I'm in Ireland. I'm trying to get some info on the GR 142 in Andalusia, Spain. I see it's only 90 miles, so as I've 8 days off post Christmas I think I could complete it.

But I can't find any sites detailing a route clearly. Also I'm trying to figure out if I fly into Malaga , how I can get to the start and from the end point back home. It seems to start in lanjaron and end in tinana.

Anyone have advice about , or links about this please?

@Deepforest have you looked at the Mozárabe? Go to the front forum page and look down at "Other routes in Spain" and you'll see a whole section with multiple threads in it.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
