That’s one of my favourites. Spouse saw it on his walk... strangely, I can’t remember it on mine In that area.
You have me wondering now because I don't recall seeing it in 2015, but this is my photo from 2017.
Could you have possibly walked earlier than your husband? Maybe it was possibly quite new when I took the picture.

Yes, I was 2014 for the “full” from SJPdP to SdC, and I joined him half-way in 2018 at Fromistá so missed the first 3 weeks...
My favourite stuff in 2014 were the various expressions/reminders to walkers that “this is not Spain” in both the Basque territory, and in Galicia... but those photos are not on the machine I am using...

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
This is on the side of a building in Igüeña on the Olvidado. I have walked by this twice now and find the gaze haunting. This part of Spain has a love/hate relationship with the (now essentially disappeared) coal industry. They mourn the loss of the jobs and the economy while at the same time you will see memorials to the many miners who have lost their lives in those mines.

Those who have been on camino and/or travelled in Portugal may be familiar with Bordalo II and his unusual and extraordinary street art, which involves making sculptures from garbage. In particular, his Big Trash Animals series is quite prominent throughout Portugal. I’ve seen quite a few of them but I’ll just mention two here that are on camino:

- The Iberian Lynx at Parque das Nações in Lisbon, 8km from the cathedral on the first day of the Caminho Português:

- The Otter on the riverfront in Alcoutim that I saw by complete surprise a few hours ago on the Caminho Nascente!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

I stumbled across another one today by accident in Fundão on the Caminho Nascente: the wolf. If you look very closely, you can see a camino marker on the far left.

My favorite souvenir is to take pictures of art and then reproduce them at home. My local photo chain will reprint on bamboo paper which gives the photo the look of the original canvas.
Now I’ve seen these terrific pictures of street art I am going to start seeking them out for my wall of souvenirs.1E219A1E-D702-41B0-9BB4-34F89BB2E57A.jpeg

What a creative, amazing, and awesome display!

I found this thought provoking work very moving. Can't for the life of remember exactly where on the Camino Frances (about 2 weeks in) and can't find my diary just at the moment but no doubt lots of people will recall the location.

Sorry to resurrect an old post, just wanted to say thank you for the brilliant idea. I really love this! The method you use to hang them on your wall is also interesting, I haven't seen a set up like that before. 😍
