Hi, new to the forum & deicided 2 days ago the time has come for me to walk the Camino Frances. Will start off in Roncevalles & aim to arrive in Santiago July 24. For those that have done the walk, any suggestions or pointers that I should be aware of on my adventure?

:) Sussi

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Wow Sussie, you are kind of a fast decision maker! 2 days ago! Well, take it easy, don't overdo it, since you may not have taken much time with preparation, focus and watch out for the common traps, going too far too fast too soon, keep it light, listen to your body and any little niggles are to be taken seriously, as they become big if you ignore them, i.e. I tied my laces too tight the first couple of days and ended up with swelling and inflammation in my feet, which I did not get rid of for the whole walk and which caused me a lot of pain and discomfort. Cheers, Gitti

Sussi,
Load your rucksack with patience, humility, thankfulness and perseverance. Take an extra load of peacefulness. Leave out pride, expectations, and entitlement.

You will have to hustle, averaging about 25 kms per day. That means there will be days of 20 and 30 kms.

The only thing I can add is "Go for it!" Or, I think the Italians say, "Animo"

Thank you John, Gitti & David for the input =) Racksack weighs just over 6 kgs, so should be about 8 kgs with water & daily snacks. Will head on this journey with open mind & let my body decide the pace I take. Will share my experiences upon my return home.

=) Sussi

Looking forward to your account of your experiences, cheers, Gitti

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
