Walking to santiago from france june 23-aug 31!
Is there a place to get my credenciales here? I was thinking of starting from Auch, then meeting up with the camino aragones, before joining CF. Anyones thoughts on this trek? It will be my first camino and I'll be doing it alone. I plan to bring a little one person tent, more as a backup plan than anything else. I understand the social nature of the camino and I'm thinking that I'll do more refugios once I hit the CF.

Is there anyone with experience camping from Auch to Oloron? What will the camino typically look like in Jun-July-Aug? Crowded?

Any advice would be WONDERFUL,

Kevin

3rd Edition. Vital content training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
The Via Tolosana is never crowded, really, so Jun-Aug should be fine unless you hit a pocket of pelerins. If you purchase the Miam Miam Dodo for the route, it will identify campgrounds. Generally, a tent is dead weight unless to plan to camp extensively. The walk will start gently enough from Auch until you cross the Pyrenees Mountains.

Bon chemin.

As for a credencial, as I remember it on the Tolosana you can pick one up almost anywhere, including at some pilgrim accommodation. You are likely to find one in Auch, and if not there then certainly within a day or so of moving on. It's a lovely path you have chosen, and I hope you enjoy it!

A selection of Camino Jewellery
In 2007, they were available in the Cathedral, but that was a while ago. The concierge at the Cathedral has the keys to an apartment which pilgrims can use.
