Starting at Zaragoza on my own

Hello dear fellow pilgrims,
I am looking at my options to walk the Camino this year for about 10 days (starting May 16) I found very good flights to Zaragoza and I was wondering if anyone can give me advice: Start walking in Zaragosa or take the bus/train to Pamplona and start there. I will be walking on my own (female) and have a low budget (so I would like to use hostels)
I do not mind not meeting many pilgrims - but I would like to feel safe

Any advice would be very welcome!

Or you could take the bus from Zaragoza to jaca and walk the Camino Aragones from there to Puente la Reina ;-) and then continue on the CF as far as you have time.

I have walked from Zaragoza, alone, and always felt safe. I took the Ruta del Ebro for a few days, moved over to the Castellano-Aragonés, and then the San Olav into Burgos. It is a FABULOUS walk. But I never saw another pilgrim till Santo Domingo de Silos.

Days 11 and 12 on this post would be days 1 and 2 out of Zaragoza for you.

Then move over to the Castellano-Aragonés for the next 8 days and you could walk from Zaragoza to San Leonardo, which must have some basic transport to get you to a main city. That is a good 10 day walk, IMO!

I was just going to make my suggestion and then I read SYates post which is exactly my thoughts. Jaca to Puenta la Reina is 165kms with an albergue in Jaca and more albergues roughly every 25 kms toPuenta la Reina. Puenta la Reina is on the Camino Frances and you could walk 3 days to Logrono which has good travel connections. The route from Jaca to Puenta la Reina is the Camino Aragones. The tourist office in Jaca (www.jaca.es) has excellent information regarding albergues and distances
