With a busy home filled with kids, grand kids, dogs and other examples of the Lord's creation watching Christmas movies, I decided to take a quiet walk.
Outside the air was cold and the night sky dark and clear. Having walked for a few minutes with my head down contemplating the events of the day, I lifted my eyes to look ahead. In that very second, something caught my eye causing me to glance upwards. A beautiful light green shooting star streaked across the winter sky! It was so sudden, and so perfect I wondered for a moment if I had imagined it! I stopped and let my eyes follow the now vacant path where the star had flown and realized how easily i could have missed it.
How often in our daily lives do we walk with our heads down? For me, I know I am hurrying to get through this waiting time, so I can experience the camino. But every day there are sights and wonders to behold around us. Whether walking along the camino, or walking through our daily lives, we all follow our own inner starry path. Next time, when the winter night calls you to walk outside, don't forget to look up! You never know what wondrous sights you might see

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Beautiful post Karen ... thanks for sharing your thoughts with us all. Here in Australia we have the Southern Cross star constellation - such a bright collective light in our night skies and so magical. Thanks for the reminder to 'look up' at night - it's SO good to do that!
Cheers - Jenny
