Suggestions for private double room. I don't care about a kitchen but I would like "nicer" accommodations. Thanks for your help!

I have stayed at two albergues in SJPP both with private rooms: Gite Ultria and Gite Bidean. Reservations can be made at both. Because of the pilgrim’s meal, my preference would go to the Bidean, but rooms in both were very nice, clean, and modern. Buen Camino!

I usually stay at Hotel des Pyrenees for a couple of nights. It's absolutely fine for a modest establishment in a small town and it has a decent restaurant.

I've also stayed at Villa Esponda, which is also adequate and quiet though much simpler.

Just stayed at Hostal Simonenia, right on Citadel just down from the Pilgrim’s office. Very nice.
