Spain Rail Strike Nov 7 & 11

I woke up this morning in Figueres to an email from RENFE informing me that my train for tomorrow, Mon. Nov 7th was cancelled due to a strike. I was just barely able to rebook the one train that was running, but only by upgrading to first class.

I just looked at the trains from Santiago to Madrid on the 7th And the 11th it appears that at least three trains (06:25, 12:00, 17:50) may be affected. If you are traveling these two days you should confirm your train as soon as possible. If you have not already bought a ticket for this week you should consider buying it as soon as possible as some trains are already sold out.

fortunately I bought my ticket through my RENFE account so they had an email where they could contact me.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Yes been a lot of coverage in Spanish media re rail and airline strikes! On, off, on, off! Seems lots of Europe is having similar issues judging by media output!

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
I was incredibly lucky. I have been.buying some tickets from the machine, but fortunately bought this one online so that I had an email online.

Wow!! Thanks for letting us know. I have a ticket from Sarria to Madrid for the following day (Tues 8th). The trouble with strikes is that they obviously inconvenience you on the day but can also have 'knock-on' effects for the day after. I suppose buses are also a possibility, but they are likely to be booked out in view of the expected strike,

Travel on the 8th should be fine if you have your ticket already. Trains might be fuller with people bumped from the 7th.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Yes you are right re following day disruption and their operation teams will be planning to mitigate the effects of this. Crew and trains out of position and so forth especially for the early journeys. But would imagine most of the schedule will run as it should!
