I decided I didn't want to be dependent on albergue power sources since I want to be free to campout some if I get the chance. So I have been testing a small portable weather-safe charger that I clip to my pack as I walk. You can also recharge it from a USB source if you have one. It weighs less than 6 ounces and has dual outputs and a built in flashlight so it does double duty. It charges fairly well even on overcast days. It may not fully charge a tablet but it does well on my iPhone 5s. You can get these in Amazon for $28 - maybe less elsewhere if you have time. Here's a link for anyone who might be interested:
