Soddit, my camino flight cancelled

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Oh no!!!! I had a similar moment with Ryanair a few weeks back. It's a terrible feeling. I was lucky and managed to rebook a day earlier. Don't give up yet look at the options, I'm sure you are frantically, it might work out yet.

Nooooooooooo!!!
I'm very sorry, Alan. For you, mostly, but also for all of us who hang on your every word once you're on the road and writing.
And with Monarch belly-up you're not likely to see any refund, at least not soon. What a bummer.
I hope you can book replacement tickets easily...

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I hope all works out well in the end for you and you have a Buen Camino, SY

So sorry to hear this Alan .

Hope that you can book a other ticket .

And when not you always can take a flight to Santiago and have that lunch with Johnnie .;)

Wish you all the best,Peter.

Alan - get a flight to Santiago and let's have lunch. You know you want to ;)
Thanks for the offer but, as you know, it's almost impossible to fly direct to Santiago from Scotland or Northern England (which must be why I always have to walk across Spain to attend your recitals ...).

Luckily, I've managed to find a flight from Newcastle to Málaga, and will then have to take a bus to La Línea de la Concepción and its church of Santiago starting point of the Serrana camino. Which means I will arrive 24 hours later than planned, and about £100 poorer, so not a bad result after all - certainly better than the unfortunate airline staff who find themselves out of work due to management incompetence.

I am so sorry and yes, also for the airline staff. Glad you found a way.
Ultreia!

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Hi, Alan,
I am glad you have found alternative transportation, because I would hate to be deprived of the tales of your annual fall wanderings. That sounds selfish, I know, but I am also genuinely happy for you. :p
But... once again you have zinged me with your offhanded reference. ¿Via Serrana? I had never heard of it, but then I searched the forum and saw that you, Kinky, Willilam, Canuck and a few others had already had a few discussions of this route.

So, looks like Gibraltar to Sevilla, then Sevilla to Salamanca to the Torres??? Happy to be in suspense, but if you do go on the Vdlp, I would really appreciate a good GPS track of the Aljucén to Santa Lucía to Alcuéscar route so I don't wind up wandering all over creation several months after you've been through.

My guess is that Maggie and George may be very happy hear about any Camino de Torres in your future! I have already downloaded all of those GPS tracks, but alas, it is not to be in 2018 for me.

Buen camino, Alan, wishing you a wonderful fall journey. Laurie

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
That was not nice news to wake up to this morning Alan. I am glad to read that you have been able to work out getting there. I don't know if you can get a flight to Dublin easy enough for future trips but Aer Lingus do a direct flight to Santiago a few days a week. We are heading out on it this Thursday.

Had been due to fly to Gibraltar to start the vía Serrana next week, and wake this morning to find Monarch airlines has gone bust and all its flights have been cancelled. Soddit soddit soddit
Any chance your travel insurance, if you have, or paid by credit card, can help? I was thinking about pilgrims as soon as I saw the notice. Yes a real bummer

Another time, go from Dublin direct to Santiago fur yer tea wi Johnnie walker.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

You poor thing. Re book if possible

Sorry to hear that - looked at Easy Jet but just as pricey until the end of November when it's just £40 Manchester to GIB :(

If you paid by credit card you might be able to reclaim of the issuing company - but not the added expense.

Hope it works out for you in the end.

Hi I'm travelling to Burgos to walk part of the Camino Frances next year and my options seems to be fly into Santander and coach to Burgos, or fly into Madrid, then coach to Burgos. Don't think...
Hello! I’ve been browsing the forum and there’s plenty of info for baggage transfers from stage to stage, where you pick it up daily, give it back and move on, however what I’m after is a service...
