So encountered my first major problem. I got to the tourist office in ferrol only to find it closed. After a lot of walking and some very dodgy Spanish I found where it had moved to only it's closed for the day. I don't have a passport for my camino. Does anyone know where else I can obtain one in Ferrol or am I going to have to stay here for the night and then walk to pontedeume from ferrol tomorrow instead of walking from Neda ? Any help would be great!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

not sure about where you are staying but I do know that sometimes you can get them from the albergues. I did on the Del Norte. You can always ask or at a church maybe.

Bex, try the Ayuntamiento (Town Hall), Plaza de Armas. If they can't provide an actual Credencial then get them to Stamp and Date a page in your notebook (or get a notebook and return to the beginning of this sentence). This will at least show that you have commenced your pilgrimage in Ferrol. One of the Albergues further down the way may have credencials but otherwise as long as you collect sequential sellos you will be able to evidence your journey.

Buen camino

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I second Tincatinker. Just get a clear Ferrol sello or two with a date, and try to collect a couple of more on your way out of town on the same sheet of paper or bound notebook. Contrary to popular belief, the people at the Pilgrim Office in Santiago are not looking for ways to deny you your compostela. Just tell them what you just told us, and they will understand. (And if that doesn't work, ask for Johnnie Walker!)

Just a chance, might a local albergue or hotel one for you
