Sleeping Bags

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
You could use a travel sheet or a silk sleep sack. It really depends when you're walking. Some albergues do have blankets and some don't. There are never any guarantees about bed bugs. I wish there were. Most people say the blankets appear clean, although they are not washed daily. Use your own best judgement. :)

Can I use just a travel sheet or is a sleeping bag essential? Do the albergues/refugios have blankets to hire and are they bed-bug safe?

Even in June it can be cold in some of the higher areas along the camino. If you're travelling before then, I'd take a lightweight sleeping bag. The albergues usually have blankets, though in high season you might not get one. If you're staying only in hostels and hotels you won't need a sleeping bag, though you'll have to plan ahead and make sure you are sleeping the night in a place that has hostels.. You don't want to find yourself in a small village with only albergues and no sleeping bag on a cold evening. Happy planning!

Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.
Poncho liner is a lot cheaper than a silk sleeping sack...very warm and very light. But I'm taking a sleeping bag!
