Sleeping Bag or Thermal Liner

September/October 2015
Hi all, I'm starting my Camino around 16th September 2015. I'm unsure about packing my sleeping bag or will I be warm enough to sleep in my sea to summit thermal liner and thermal pj's instead? Thanks for any advice you can share with me. Cheers, Antonella

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
It just depends on how hot or cold you sleep.
Personally, I wouldn't go without a sleeping bag in late September/early October.
But many people do and are fine with it.
If you only took your liner, and got cold, you could put on all the clothes in your pack and put your rain gear over you.
Rain gear is surprisingly warm.
I once slept very comfortably on a cold night in Roncesvalles with just my ALTUS poncho over me after giving another pilgrim my sleeping bag.

Thanks so much for your advice Annie. I'll see how my packing goes closer to the time. If I can for it in comfortably I'll definitely take it. Thanks again

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Hello, we walked Sept last year and brought +40 down sleeping bag and it was way too much. I slept on top of it more than in it. This spring we brought the Sea2Summit +25 liner and it worked perfect for me and for my wife. She prefers a few more blankets than me, but she was warm too. On cool evenings we used an albergue blanket, when a blanket was not available, we simply wore another layer and/or put our thermal jackets on top of us. Worked great, wouldn't do it another way.

Thanks so much for your advice from your experience. Obviously don't want to take it if I don't have to. Thanks again

I'm looking forward to hearing about your experience when you return as it looks like this is when we'll get going next year

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
