Sketching along the way

Time of past OR future Camino
Inglese 2021
CF started 22022
I count myself lucky to to be able to walk a portions of the Camino with my daughters. This time I walked with my oldest daughter from Pamplona to Logrono. I made the sketches below and in my replies at our rest stops along the way. This one is the Puente de Carcel in Estella.

I love them all! They are so detailed and intricate, yet in an endearing, quirky way. It is meant as a compliment.

Thank you for sharing, they are beautiful. may I ask roughly how long you would spend to complete one? The Plaza de S. Maria is particularly intriquate

Thanks for posting! When I am following trails I am always on the lookout for postcards to send to my mother (91 years). She loved to sketch and paint and still enjoys browsing through art books . Your water colours would make a lovely gift set - as cards, post cards or as a camino booklet with story....

Cheers

Thank you.

Most of the pen and ink work took about 30 to 40 minutes, on average. The Plaza de S. Maria was a quite a bit longer because I had to keep on turning my head to look at the scene from where I was sitting and each building was slightly ajar from its neighbors. There was a lot of pencil erasure on that one.

Applying the water color took roughly 30 minutes each, maybe more when I had to let the paint dry between adjacent washes.

Thank you so much!

Thank you thank you thank you. I had been thinking about taking up urban sketching, as my European travels slow down, and this has been wonderfully motivational.

Thanks for sharing these with us. I echo the question about how long you spent on each (roughly)

I've looked at all of the sketches posted here. They are fantastic.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
