SJPP statistics

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hi Gene,

I'm not sure if these are data you're looking for, but on the website of the pilgrim's office in Santiago there are at least some data for both 2020 and 2021. Take a look and see if it's what you're looking for.

Greetings Nerds! I keep up the statistics page in the American Pilgrims' website. (americanpilgrims.org/statistics). I'm looking for St. Jean departure numbers for 2020 and, if possible, 2021 YTD. Years through 2019 are available at aucoeurduchemin.org/statistiques-des-pelerins/. But I'm drawing a blank for last year and this after spending a considerable amount of time looking around the internet. Any help greatly appreciated!

I have never looked at the website you reference. I would think they get their stats from the official Pilgrim Office and Website. After all they are the keeper of all things Camino, pilgrim and compostela! Of course no site can be 100% accurate especially on the Camino Frances given the number of pilgrims, especially Europeans who walk over a course of a few years and another group, especially Spaniards who come and walk sections during holidays and then go home. But this is about as good as it will get. I believe. Use the Office of Pilgrims website it will have all the information you need

This is the best and most accurate and up to date statistics you will find. You can find by year and by month going back to 2004. They even have ongoing stats for August.

Gene,
Monasp of this forum ,who is a manager in the Pilgrim's Office in St Jean Pied de Port ,may be able to help you with this one.
I noticed from a previous posting an OP asked for help with statistics for an earlier year from St Jean Pied de Port and she
intimated that she could help them with this.
I found this information by searching her posts under member's name Monasp and I came across the relevant posting.
Sorry I can't give you a direct link to this but it's easy to access.

Hi @Gene_781, last year's departure numbers (2020) are in a file in the Facebook group of the Pilgrims Office of SJPP. The name of the group is Accueil des amis du chemin de St Jacques de St Jean Pied de Port. They also have stored some of the files that are on aucoeurduchemin.

Contact @Monasp by private conversation. She is a forum member and manager of the SJPP office. Maybe she is willing to provide you with the 2021 YTD data.

Thanks to all who responded to my plea. The stats provided by la Oficina in Santiago are *arrivals* in Santiago. I'm interested in this case for departures from SJPP. Quite a different beast. (Only about half of departures from SJPP arrive in Santiago.) Yes, any Camino statistics are a bit fuzzy, say with people departing SJPP in one year and and arriving after a subsequent Camino in a later year. But most of that will wash out.

The link to @Monasp will be the solution.

On the American Pilgrims website I have updated to 2020 all of the statistics that use only Oficina data. Hopefully I can now do those bits that use SJPP departures. Thanks!
