I'm toying with the idea of buying a slik liner for my much used Snugpak Travelite sleeping bag (about 900gr).The sleeping bag is generally adequate but there have been times on the camino when it was not sufficient and I'm wondering whether the expense of a silk liner is warranted. I'm considering the Lifeventure one that is treated with anti mozzie, bed bug and bacteria.
Are they effective in making a conventional sleeping bag warmer?

On the VDLP last year..in July at Castro Dozon those who missed out on a blanket absolutely froze. In 2007 I walked from Le Puy in July and there were times when my sleeping bag + wearing all my clothes was still not enough. This year on the VDLP I bypassed Castro Dozon in the bus..in early june, those who stayed there said they hardly got any sleep because of the cold. So a base layer would probably not be enough...hence whether I should get a silk liner

I didn't stay at Castro Dozon due to staying at Oseira, but a friend who did 2 weeks ago said there was heating on (although a helpful peregrino turned it off during the night).

I took a very light weight sleeping bag (snugpack junglebag) and a silk liner. I found this enabled me to be comfortable in the hot nights of Valencia and the cold nights of Galicia - and in between.
