I'm at Portomarin tonight and was wondering if I should get up early to detour tomorrow to Vilar de Donas?

Note: church does not open until 11 but sometimes the caretaker comes by to see if people are around. Definitely worth the detour as it is probably the most interesting church on the Camino - up there with Eunate

Well worth the visit, the wall paintings are deeply moving.

I took your advise and Walked the extra miles, and you were correct it was worth ever steps and the blister! Truly amazing I just wish more pilgrims went! I think near needs to be a bigger sign or something?

The depiction of the crucified Christ, not as a remote deity but as a hurt and bewildered man brought me to my knees. My stoic agnosticism took a solid kicking that morning.
