Advice needed, with the cost of adding hold baggage (poles etc) to my flights I was thinking I would be cheaper posting it ahead to Porto does anyone know the best place to send it? I was thinking of emailing the Anglican Church to see if they would hold it or is it possible to send it to a main post office for collection?

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Compare the cost of checking baggage to that of posting it. I have been carrying on my sticks in their case in my backpack with out any problem and I go overseas about 2x a year. Call the TSA or airlines and ask them. You can also purchase sticks less expensively in Europe.

The OP is from Scotland so TSA is not a consideration.
@Paul Wilson - there are Decathlons in Porto. Would it make financial / practical sense to buy your hold items such as poles? Depending on what you have in hold baggage this could be a less expensive alternative.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-

That’s my other option, putting a bag in the hold is increasing my out bound fare by about £60 and about £40 on the return so that’s not an option. I’m considering the postage costs as I’m travelling with my wife so two sets of poles as well as other bits and pieces but once I check the postage cost I will weigh that up with the decathlon cost 👍

If you have pre-booked accommodation in Porto, with their agreement, send it there. Poste-restante is the alternative. 30 minutes confusion attached here: https://www.portugal-info.net/travel/communication.htm

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
I recently went to visit my relatives in Turkey, but I didn't want to bring my things with me. And on top of that they were not in very good condition, so I decided to order them from China. At the same time and test ems tracking. I chose the items and with the help of this service they were delivered to me very fast, in 3 days. All this time I was tracking the location of my things. And it so happened that I flew to visit, and at the same time came and my things. Everything fit me, I dressed in new clothes and joyfully went to my relatives.
