LIVE from the Camino Semana Santa in Santiago

Time of past OR future Camino
2013
First time back since 2013 and being here during Holy Week is so special. I've enjoyed the processions and celebrations in the cathedral. Watching the arrival of pilgrims throughout the day being greeted by the bagpipes was a joy. I vividly recall my own journey so many years ago and am overcome with a flood of emotions. So much has changed since then and who knows if I'll be able to walk the Camino again but today my Faith has been renewed.

Thanks 😊 walking on the roof of the Cathedral was an amazing experience! We only spent 1 day in Santiago at the end of our Camino so I'm exploring the city more on this trip.

I can really recommend the night visits to the cathedral too though the guide is in Spanish. The restoration work on the cathedral is just amazing, the cathedral is stunning now and you really get a sense of what it was like to arrive to hundreds of years ago.
And a few pics from one yesterdays procession

Thanks for sharing so beautiful. That procession looks to be different from the ones I've seen. I'm in awe. So fascinating learning so much about the tradition of the processions and how much they differ from each parish and across Spain.

Wow didn't know they had night tours. Will have to check it out.

Here's is a screenshot of Johnny Walkers Facebook summary of the services this week. If you want to attend the service in the cathedral tomorrow 11:40am Easter Sunday i would advise going well in advance. I expect it will be at capacity.
