All- I am the webmaster for American Pilgrims and we are asked every so often for advice on reaching Sarría by public transportation. I know that it is possible to travel by train from Madrid but it is an overnight trip (2210-0607). In 2005 there was some information on this forum about bus connections Santiago to Lugo followed by another bus connection or a short taxi ride on to Sarría. A company called Monobus was mentioned as possibly having a direct run Santiago to Sarría weekdays.

Does anyone have any updated information on reaching Sarría from anywhere else major - like Santiago, León, Burgos or even Madrid? Direct routing or connections?

Also does anyone know if ALSA takes their site down for maintenance in the middle of the night Spanish time? Several times in the late afternoon and into the evening in North America their site has refused to connect. Seems to work fine in the morning here.

Many thanks.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
