Hola,
I hope this is the right place to post this message.
I'm an Italian pilgrim, I moved to Spain, exactly to Murias de Rechivaldo, on the French Way, in 2020 to run an albergue, I rented it for 3 years.
I decided to not keep on with the contract and to leave that place last year, I'm currently working and I live now in Astorga.
But I miss too much that life, meeting everyday pilgrims from all around the world and sharing with them life experiences.
So, my question to you is...Do you know about albergues, hostals,...now for renting on the Camino (preferably the French Way)?
I appreciate your support, suggestions, attention... thanks a lot to read till here!
Buen camino!
Miriam

Join the Camino cleanup. Logroño to Burgos May 2025 & Astorga to OCebreiro in June
I there are two that I know of: Albergue el Pajar de Ages (in Ages before Burgos) and Albergue San Miguel in Hospital de Orbigo. As far as I know, they are for sale - but an inquiry may find that the owners may be willing to rent.

I stayed in this town last spring in Casa de Las Almas, (which is a fabulous place to stay by the way) and saw that this albergue that the town wants to now rent, was closed. The town was full and really could have used another place to be open. The other albergue was busy serving food and drinks and I think may have been full too?

Go for it!

Hola Miriam,
Nice to "see" you here! I'm the previous owner of Albergue Villares de Órbigo and we met on several occasions both in Casa Flor and in Astorga in 2020 🙂.

Unfortunately I can't help you with renting but I wish you much luck.

Un abrazo

Hello Jodean, do you remember the name of the village? Thanks!

The same one, where this albergue is for rent. It is why I commented on the post - Espinosa.

Sorry, I haven't understood it. I checked yesterday on the village website and the albergue is on a "subasta" to rent it.
The problem is they are too strict for me, since they say it can close only 15 days during winter. It doesn't work for my life plans....

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I was sad to see that Alb Paloma y Lena at San Mamede do Camiño near Sarria was closed when I passed in November last year. I had very happy memories of a hammock in the sun and a sumptuous meal there from my 2016 Camino. I think they are looking for a buyer rather than a manager, but you could look into it.
