Hi Sara
Buen camino - I hope the rain is kind and gives you some breaks. Day 1 worked well. A little daunting arriving in the dark though. Take care.
It’s a great route to walk solo

Enjoy

Excellent choice! But with all your notoriety, your video blog will probably bring on the hoards. It was nice to finally see inside the albergue at Villavieja. By next year there should be more regular and reliable management, so people won’t have to go searching for the keys. But I am glad you got in, because not all forum members were able to!

Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.
The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Just watched Sara’s day from As Médulas to Vilamartín. I have to say that the video leaves no doubt in my mind that if you are watching your money carefully, the Centro Social in Sobradelo is a better choice than the private alternative. Prices in Bar Mar struck me as “special pilgrim prices” when I went through last summer. Almost 3 € for the world’s tiniest Fanta. Sara, OTOH, got a monster hamburger and drink for 4 in the Centro Social.

And I had never seen the inside of Vilamartín’s albergue. Really enjoying these videos. Thanks, Sara.

I am in total awe of you Sara. I think that you must be the bravest and most adventurous pilgrim on the Forum. Would it be possible to include your distance each day at the end of you vlog?

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

I know that everyone raves about Bar Mar, but Laurie is right. The welcome from Lili in the Centro Social Pontenova is wonderful, and the food there is amazing (and cheap). It's a pity that there's so much infighting between the two places, but Bar Mar definitely charges more.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I have enjoyed seeing the videos. Brings memories back! And even more beautiful in springtime!

It is listed in the beginning of the video. For my next series I’ll add it at the end to make it easier.

Hi Sara, bridge dancing Queen. How did the bridge dancing originate.?
really enjoying your adventures and your energy.

Ahh! I hiked on the Pacific Crest Trail in 2018 and started from the Mexican border. It was desert, desert, and more desert. The first time I saw a bridge I was insanely happy. Then it continued from there!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Hi, Sara.

I just wanted to say how much I am enjoying your fantastic videos. You are such a bubbly energetic lady, and you are really bringing to life the magic of this wonderful camino. This is why we (jokingly) want to keep it a secret and not let anyone spoil it! As VNwalking said the other day, that's just a bit of friendly banter here on the forum!

As someone who has now walked the Invierno 7 times, I recognise every path, tree, village (and bar!). I have never come across a jabalí (wild boar), however! Wow! That must have been a bit of a scary moment.

I do worry about you, though, when I see you having to walk the last parts of your long stages in the dark! Please take care!

Looking forward to the next video, from Monforte de Lemos to where?

Kind regards from freezing Salamanca!

Thanks for the videos. I am learning. We are planning our first Camino Frances for October 3 through the 19th. I have tried on 11 pack backs. I finally found one I like. Osprey Sirrus 36. Now what to pack? Thanks for sharing your vidoes! Buen Camino!!

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Sara, at the end of each day I look forward to your vlog but I get most concerned for you when I see you walking in the dark and am always highly relieved when you reach your destination. After walking 35 kms I am amazed that you still have the energy to do your daily video. I am interested to know how long it takes you to put it together each day?

Now I am already looking forward to this evening's episode.

Sara, I assume you're pushing onwards in the dark because you have a flight to catch!?
If not, please consider stopping earlier - this walk is too gorgeous to be missed in the dark even in the rain! (Besides, there's the not insignificant matter of safety...and now you have an army of fans out here who are all worried and clucking over you every evening!)

I completely agree with VNwalking's sentiments, as I posted previously.

You're missing out on some beautiful places if you don't get the chance to have a look around.

It is NOT a good idea to be arriving in out-of-the-way places so late at night. Look what happened to you after Chantada!

Please think of all your followers!

No reason to worry anymore, Sara arrived in Santiago in one piece and is already on the way home to Canada ;-)

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for your comments!

As for how long a video takes to create - depends on how much I film that day. It usually takes 30 minutes to two hours daily. I sacrifice sleep when trying to meet a daily upload goal. Sometimes I video-edit as I road walk.

I spent the last couple days in airplanes & airports transiting without reliable wifi. I’m currently in the Dominican Republic and will get back on schedule with the rest of the Camino Invierno uploads!

Merry Cnristmas, Sara!

Wow Sara - just viewed your ‘YouTube ‘ day 8 and 9 which finished in Bandeiro... You had water & mud ‘in spades’. But it didn’t stop you!
I recall lots of mud in same areas april2018 but nothing in comparison. Your comment about missing the countryside when you finished holds true even in the worst of weather.
Really enjoyed watching these 2 days in dry and ‘rainless ‘ Australia on Boxing Day morning.
Buen Camino

Seeing her last , still thinking I was lucky walking the last weeks of May 2018, after having read about Annie´s rainy days a month ahead.

Holoholo automatically captures your footpaths, places, photos, and journals.
What an couragous young pilgrim you are, thank you for sharing your inspiring Camino experience with us, Sara. Looking foreward to walking the Camino Invierno in spring, when days are longer and wouldn´t mind more sunny and less rainy days.

Hi Sara,
I have just watched the first two days and am loving the videos and now more than ever want to walk the Camino Invieno.
Can’t wait to see the rest of your journey.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, starting a grandmaworrying when the next video did not show up!
Same here. I kept looking for the next video not realizing she had gone home. And no more night walking alone please.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Just watched Sara’s last day 10 on the Invierno.
I’m not sure when it was posted but I’ve just seen it.
Loved her last day and there are a few cameo appearances in Santiago. So good. Sara, you’ve brought a big smile to my day. Such a happy video and your outlook on life and nature is infectious .

@Sara_Dhooma I’m guessing you’re about to start your next camino in a day or two also.

Looking forward to it

Buen camino
Annie
Ps. Having trouble linking it. Maybe someone else might be able to put it here if this link doesn’t work.
