On this morning's program "Morning Edition" (4/1/09) the US radio station NPR (National Public Radio) interviewed an 89 year old man who lives in Santiago De Compostela about the resurgence of interest in Spain in investigating "The Missing/Kidnapped Children of the Franco Regime." When Franco came to power, he allegedly took the children of Republican families and sent them to live with Falange supporters or church institutions. The interviewee said he was taken by the Falangists after his mother died of myserious causes and his father was imprisoned. He said he was raised in a Church institution and abused, tortured, etc.
