I'm finishing my first Camino with my 83 year old father tomorrow. I want to celebrate the Camino and father's day with a nice meal. Where in Santiago de Compestelo would you recommend?
My apologies for repeat of possible past posts. I did a search and did not find.
Thank you in advance, Kim
The Greenhouse is my favourite place in Santiago. It’s owned and run by a lovely woman (Shanta) of Welsh and Indian origin who was born in Hong Kong. When she moved to Santiago she couldn’t find a restaurant that served the kind of Asian food she grew up eating, so she opened it herself!I had an amazing vegetarian meal at The Greenhouse
Rúa da Conga, 6, 15704 Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña, Spain

I have been taken several times to the San Clemente in the Rua (surprise!) San Clemente, but 5 minutes from the Obradoiro Plaza.
It was such a wonderful I surprise I tried to go back a second night, but it was fully booked (in November). Being a small intimate place is part of its appeal, but it means places are limited. And getting so many recs from the forum is not going to make that any easier, so it may be a good idea to book.Greenhouse is a very nice place, we had some great food but it was even better to talk with Shanta.
I will come back for sure!
We love O’42 on Rua Franco. Gone there after each of my Caminos.I'm finishing my first Camino with my 83 year old father tomorrow. I want to celebrate the Camino and father's day with a nice meal. Where in Santiago de Compostela would you recommend?

At the end of my Norte I met a fellow New Yorker who was a retired fireman. He was a huge New york Yankees and Giants fan so we instantly bonded. He was walking with about8 others. He invited us (I was shocked that I was invited given I had only known him for 2 days) to dinner at the Parador, At dinner he immediately ordered 3 bottles of wine and a few appetizers. He then insisted we all order our own appetizers as well as our meals and desserts. I think we had 6 bottles of wine plus dinner for 10. I can't imagine what the bill was. My whole meal was fantastic. I can't tell you what I had as I asked our wonderful and really knowledgeable waiter who served us to pick out my meal. We talked about a few things but I left it to him. He did a masterful job! WOW it was a night to remember! How about the Parador?

Could you give us an idea in which pricerange you are searching?
I’m surprised that nobody hasanaco santiago has my vote
Thank you. Yes, we had a beautiful meal at Don Quioxte with a bottle of wine and dessert. It was sublime.Cheers!Probably too late for your use, but the food at Casa de Xanatar O Dezaseis is sublime. Rua de San Pedro, 16. If there's still time, give your heroic father the meal he deserves. Order the wine by the bottle and do not skip dessert.
I was just there in January and had the best meal/service at A Fuego Lento Bistró. It was reasonably priced and casual enough that we didn’t feel weird in our hiking clothes but elegant as well so it felt special.I'm finishing my first Camino with my 83 year old father tomorrow. Very good and reasonable pricedOne of my favorites has been the Dezaseis.
I had seen a NYT review and thought i’d give it a try. It has a very nice atmosphere and good food. I went to it several times over the years. Always good. The last time I was in Santiago, though, it was closed. Someone later told me that it has now reopened. I’m not sure if that means new management or big changes in the food or the quality, but it’s a nice location, right on the Camino on the way into the Praza Cervantes.
