Ryanair has blamed the falling value of the Pound against the Euro for its decision to axe ten routes from Liverpool this summer.
The Irish no-frills airline said the exchange rate has had a “devastating” impact on traffic and tourism at Liverpool airport.
Flights from Liverpool to Budapest, Faro, Friedrichshafen, Gdansk, Lodz, Paris Beauvais, Salzburg, Santiago de Compostela, Szcezin and Valencia have been axed from Ryanair’s summer schedule.
Ryanair also said the Government’s controversial air passenger duty (APD) charge was hitting sales.
Passengers who have already made bookings for flights hit by the Liverpool cuts are being advised to contact Ryanair directly for a full refund.
