Just heard on the news that Ryanair is no longer allowed to charge for hand luggage, and has to pay back people, but they didn't say for how long back. I also have no idea if it also applies to e.g. Viueling. News about this in other countries?

Checked web can see no change in policy still charge.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

Be sure to get your boarding pass printed before. Ryan Air wanted $15 each for a single one page copy.

I booked with Ryan in June for October flight. Very small carry on was free, but allowed size was so small that even my half full 25 liter pack loaded to 3.7 kg did not qualify. Had to pay additional $25

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

I've never paid for hand luggage (backpack) on Vueling and I've been using them yearly for quite some years.

Never charged for small hand bag or small rucksack that stores under seat always charged for bigger cabin case so no change.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Thats right, for us not in EU, we have to pay anyway, for a digital one or printed.
I’m confused by your comment. I’ve flown RyanAir at least a dozen times and have never paid to print my passport at home. Yes, you can wait until you reach the airport and request them to print it as an additional service for a cost, but that is not required. As for digital, as a non-EU, that’s not an option either for pay or free.

@trecile referred to a Ryanair requirement for non EU/non EEA nationals to present a printed boarding pass that the Ryanair desk at the airport would stamp. I think that this is or may have been only the case during certain transits (i.e two connecting Ryanair flights need to be involved, not just one flight). It does not and did not concern Norwegian passengers who are EEA nationals.

Like @trecile I am a bit sceptical about these news. I don’t think that these recent isolated court cases in Spain and Portugal have immediate consequences for Ryanair’s fee structure as a whole or for departures in other countries.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
You may be right about this, I just know that Norwegians and Icelanders (unlike our Scandinavian neighbours, who are in the EU) have to pay for either a digital boarding card, print it out ourself or print it out/get it at the airport. This when it comes to Ryanair and Vieuling as I know of, not for example, SAS, KLM and lots of other companies.
I don't know if the news is true, but it's hugely hyped here.

I flew Ryan air from Santiago back to Madrid many times; most recently in 2019 before I started using the trains back. I stayed at a lovely small hotel in Santiago and the reception worker spoke no English and I spoke no useful Spanish. There was an approximate €25 charge if you did not print out your boarding pass ahead of time. It took forever to get the person in charge at the hotel to help us and print it out. It was very frustrating and I wasn't using google translate at that time .
A few years later it was drawn to my attention that the Pilgrim House is very happy to help print out boarding passes, and I wish I'd known this service they offer. Faith is a sweetie and she is from the US and English is her first language.

We’re just back from hols with Ryanair, had to pay nearly £50 for 10kg hand luggge, only 20kg allowed with flight

This announcement is WAAAAAY too early to make. A recent court decision says it’s not allowed, but Ryan Air hasn’t changed its pricing policy nor will they until they run out of options fighting this.

Not sure about up there but here in Greece there are loads of shops that will print a document for 10-20 cents. You don't have to pay the extortionate price at the airport.
